Compare Our Surfaces

Resin ★★★★★ ♕

This surface really ticks all the boxes when it comes to a stunning driveway that’s also great to live with day-to-day. We’ve been installing resin for over 13 years now, and it’s the most positive feedback surface across the board. Due to high specification and material costs, this surface is the most expensive, but if your budget allows then is definitely the one to go for.

Tarmac ★★★★

A worthy runner up in our eyes, tarmac surfacing does really stand the test of time and is a great surface to live with. It doesn’t have the look many people are after, but we recommend installing a nice contrasting block edging to really give the area wow factor and kerb appeal without breaking the bank. The overall feed back over the years from our tarmac drives is excellent.

Gravel ★★★★

Can be a bit of a marmite effect surface this one with mixed feedback over the years. It’s certainly beautiful, but the main problem is gravel migrating, especially in trafficked areas. This requires regular sweeping or raking, along with the challenge of small debris/litter that may be blown onto the surface being difficult to keep on top of for some. We think if you incorporate a nice edge to keep gravel contained and opt for a 20mm basalt or chipping rather than a rounded pebble type gravel then this type of driveway can be a stunning option that will serve you well.

Block Paving ★★★

Stunning when first done and when maintained properly, correctly installed block paving will last a lifetime. This is the most durable surface we offer, with the downside of needing regular maintenance which is either a timely or costly job that always comes around too soon. If you’re happy to do the upkeep then block paving is nevertheless a great choice.

Flagstone ★★★

This is a very attractive looking surface but is prone to lichen and efflorescence which can detract from the look if you don’t keep up to it. Jointing can also be a challenge after years of cleaning and chemical use for stain removal. It’s a natural product, so strength consistency is not always guaranteed, which is why we would rate it better for patios – giving 4 stars for foot traffic and 2 stars on driveways, hence the overall 3 star rating.
