At Buildadrive.com we install a whole range of driveway surfaces all of which have their own qualities and advantages of surface choice, here we take a look at specifically tarmac and why it could be right for you and your specifications.

Tarmac is a popular choice for many as it’s a cost effective way to cover the driveway surface, whilst improving the appearance of your home or property, tar is from the black material found from coal and most often than not takes a lot less time to install than other surfaces such as concrete.

Why choose tarmac for driveway?

It is a hardy surface, it can handle just about anything, all weathers such as heavy rain, snow, thunderstorms and gale force winds, making it ideal to park larger vehicles such as lorries if needed.

If installed correctly you will be left with a perfectly smooth surface, this prevents things such as skidding.

You won’t find unwanted growth such as weeds, grass and lichen coming through the driveway as you could with other surfaces, making tarmac a great low maintenance surface choice.

You want to add something more to your tarmac driveway?

Tarmac doesn’t come in an array of colours and designs itself, but it’s quite easy to add some colour and design to your driveway, some people have chosen to add block paved edges around the border, these can come in a selection of colours and can add an element of design to the driveway.
